Rifco are an Arts Council of England National Portfolio Organisation and in 2014 we secured an uplift in funds and awarded funding for the Creative People and Places programme. We also embarked on our first international tour to Dubai, Mumbai and New Delhi as well as sold-out dates in the UK with recent production Happy Birthday Sunita.

For over 15 years, Rifco have been developing and creating vibrant, accessible and high quality mid-scale theatre to encourage and engage new and diverse audiences across the UK and internationally. Celebrating the contemporary British Asian experience with a focus on artistic excellence, new writing and ambitious programming.

Rifco are based in the vibrant city center of Watford and are Resident Company at the city’s creative hub - Watford Palace Theatre. Together we produced the ground breaking and award winning musical Britain’s Got Bhangra (Best Musical - Off West End Awards), dance comedy drama Break The Floorboards (Best Live Event - Asian Media Awards), MummyJi Presents, British Asian Film Festival, Happy Birthday Sunita and will soon be touring The Deranged Marriage to celebrate 10 years of the hit show.


Vacancy - GENERAL MANAGER - RIFCO

Salary: £30,000 - £32,000 per annum plus benefits

Overview:

  • To manage the administration for Rifco’s touring productions in UK and Internationally, artistic schemes, fundraising, HR and legal requirements and to ensure the smooth delivery of all projects and productions.
  • To work with the Executive Director to develop and deliver Rifco Arts Business plan to ensure Rifco Arts operates as a successful and sustainable business.
  • To work with the Executive Director to support Rifco’s financial systems.
  • To work with Artistic Director to support Artistic schemes and development projects.

Vacancy - PROJECT MANAGER – CREATIVE PEOPLE AND PLACES

FTC 4 Months
Salary: £22,000 -£25,000 per annum

Creative People & Places:
In June 2014 Rifco was awarded a £625,000 Creative People and Places Grant to lead a consortium of partners, including Creative Junction CIC, Aik Saath, Resource Productions, SWIPE and Slough Borough Council to enable greater participation and engagement in the arts in Slough. The programme aims to empower consortiums to experiment with new and radically different approaches and to develop inspiring, sustainable arts programmes that will engage audiences in those communities.

Rifco is the lead organisation for Slough CPP and is responsible for the successful delivery of all the funding outputs and conditions as part of the CPP programme.

Overview:

  • To develop and manage the commissioning process of the creation of the Slough CPP Business Plan alongside Rifco’s Executive Director.
  • To support the creation of the overall vision of the CPP Project, from artistic plans and networks with artists to community engagement plans and programme for public engagement.
  • To structure, plan and implement Phase One, in conjunction with Rifco’s Executive Director and present this to the Management Committee for decision making and leadership.
  • To manage the process of research and development of the Business Plan that meets the requirements, including advertising posts, recruitment and selection of relevant consultants and support workers.
  • To be the main point of contact for all correspondence and contact for CPP Slough.
  • In conjunction with Rifco’s Executive Director, ensure Rifco is delivering on all aspect of the funding agreement for Phase One.
  • To write monitoring reports as required for funders, including Arts Council reports.

Invite to tender - BUSINESS PLANNING CONSULTANT – CREATIVE PEOPLE AND PLACES

Overview:
Working closely with and reporting to the Management Committee and consulting widely; the successful person will:

Produce a detailed and sustainable Business Plan which will include;

  • A clear vision and ambition for Slough, one that focuses on community engagement, high-quality arts provision
  • Plans for engagement and audience development, including but not restricted to a communications plan

  • A clear understanding of the existing arts opportunities in Slough and identification of gaps which will inform the delivery programme.
  • Review and recommendations on governance and management structures and agreements, approaches to decision making and commissioning work which are fair and transparent and based on best practice

  • Plans to ensure sustainability
  • Plans for documentation and sharing learning with wider cultural sector

  • Timeline with detailed plan for the first 12 months of Phase 2
  • Review of policies and procedures that will apply to the programme, for example Safeguarding, Public Liability Insurance etc

VACANCY - CSM, DSM & ASM/Wardrobe

Rifco are looking for an experienced stage management team for the mid-scale UK tour The Deranged Marriage, written and directed by Pravesh Kumar.

Dates:
Rehearsals: 23 March - 18 April in Watford
Tech: 20 – 24 April
Tour: 25 April – 14 June (one week with no performances with possible extension)

Tour:
Watford Palace Theatre, West Yorkshire Playhouse, Theatre Royal Windsor, The Woodville Gravesend, Warwick Arts Centre and Oxford Playhouse.

Personnel:
There is a cast of 11.

The show will tour with a Company Stage Manager, Deputy Stage Manager, Assistant Stage Manager/Wardrobe. The Production Manager will be present throughout rehearsals, tech week and at each get-in. 

Salary:

Rehearsals and Watford run as per Sub Rep Agreement.
