Rifco and Watford Palace Theatre are very pleased to announce that comedy dance drama Break The Floorboards is a finalist for Best Live Event at the inaugural Asian Media Awards.

The awards aim promote and celebrate the achievements of the Asian media industry and we are very to proud to have been nominated.

Speaking about the awards, Media Manager of the Asian Media Awards, Umbreen Ali: “Since the inaugural launch, there has been an overwhelming response to the Asian Media Awards. That can be seen in the calibre of the short list. This is essentially what the awards epitomises – embracing talent in the UK on every spectrum.

Break The Floorboards which toured this Spring and Summer was Rifco's first full dance project, having previously delighted audiences with hit musicals and dramas such as the award-winning Britain’s Got Bhangra, The Deranged Marriage, There’s Something About Simmy and MummyJi Presents. In partnership with Watford Palace Theatre, the show told the story of aspiring dancer Zain and explored the fusion of vibrant Bollywood and energetic Street dance styles, whilst presenting a glimpse into the complexities of growing up in a multicultural society.

What's on Stage gave the show 4 stars and The Stage gave it a fantastic review "the show is thoroughly entertaining... a dynamic fusion of Bollywood and Street dancing, which is explosively energetic, dynamic and joyful."

Thank you to the cast, crew and creatives for their work on the production and our audience for supporting and appreciating our work.

The Asian Media Awards ceremony will be taking place in Manchester at the end of October.

Wish us luck!
